TCAT Dickson’s Clarksville Campus holds summer commencement.

CLARKSVILLE, TN: TCAT Dickson President Laura Travis conferred diplomas and technical certificates for ninety students from six Tennessee counties and neighboring Christian County, Kentucky Thursday afternoon during summer commencement held on the grounds of Austin Peay State University.

Tennessee State Senator Bill Powers served as guest speaker. Graduates Alexander Haws and Ashley Cousin led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided the invocation, respectively.

Graduates earning third party certifications were Building Construction Technology students Bec Belanger, Dontavious Curry, Emily Frigo, TeShawne Wiggins, and Sincer Wise; Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration students Daniel Gatewood, Andru Sanchez, Jared Hawkins, and Preston Van Dyke; Patient Care Technology / Medical Assisting students Neicy Harkless, Madison Adams, Lawren Mitchell, and Jadanne Scurlock; Pharmacy Technology student Chelsea Franklin; Cosmetology student Karleigh Doan; Computer Information Technology students Anthony Bryant, Daniel Payment; Machine Tool Technology student Josh Kessell; Welding Technology students Trenton Brown, JJ Bruce, Ammon Fisher, Samuel Foster, Scott Larsen, Ryan Leslie, Dawson Moroschak, Reed Poole, Roberto Quinonez, and Kaden Whitlatch; Automotive Technology students David Bermudez, Brady Gerlach-Brown, Quentin Goder, Matthew LeGrant, Samuel Lewis, Jacob Liddy, Tyler Rone, and Dalton Tanzie; Diesel Powered Equipment Technology students Christian Coakley, Roy Cook, Blake Folsom, Jesse Gibbs, and James Suda-Dodson.

Graduates inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) were applauded for their efforts. To be inducted into NTHS students must maintain an “A” average, attend at least 95 percent of their total program hours, and be nominated by their instructors. Graduates earning this distinction were Bec Belanger, Emily Frigo, Jadanne Scurlock, Jade Boyd-Cleaver, Aleecia Gibson, Brooke McKenzie, Anthony Bryant, Daniel Payment, Josh Kessell, Ammon Fisher, and Ryan Leslie.

Graduates named honorary banner bearers were recognized for their academic achievement and were selected based on earning the highest overall grade point average in their career cluster. Those students were Aleecia Gibson – National Technical Honor Society, Josh Kessell – SkillsUSA, Preston Van Dyke – Construction, Jade Boyd-Cleaver – Health Science, Ainslee Bryson – Human Servies, Daniel Payment – Information Technology, Alexander Haws – Manufacturing, Tyler Rone – Transportation, and DeMarquis Seabrook – Corrections & Security.

TCAT Dickson has campus locations in Dickson, Clarksville, and Franklin and primarily serves students in Dickson, Montgomery, Cheatham, Stewart, Houston, Humphreys, Hickman, and Williamson counties in addition to neighboring communities and Kentucky residents.
