TCAT Dickson holds summer commencement for Dickson and Williamson campuses.

Dickson, TN: TCAT Dickson President Laura Travis conferred more than fifty diplomas and technical certificates during commencement August 19 for Dickson and Williamson campus graduates.

Dr. Heidi Leming, Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Strategic Partnership at TBR, was tapped as guest speaker for the summer 2025 commencement ceremony. “As graduates of TCAT Dickson, you should know you’ve been able to study at one of the best colleges in Tennessee,” Dr. Leming told graduates.

Dr. Leming encouraged students to strike a work – life balance, to find a sense of purpose and belonging, and to live life intentionally. “To live an intentional life, you need to be willing to go out on the limb and fall. It’s not about volume. The quality should be improved as well. Less may be more,” she said.

Graduates receiving third party certifications were recognized. Those students were: Benjamin Cassidy, Samuel Clark, Aiden Cotter, Evan Dillard, Isaiah Dotson, Jesus Antonio Flores-Delgado, Williams Hunter, Jordan King, Joshua Silveira, and Jaxon Smith all from the Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program; Madelene Douglas, Kaylee Edmission, Makena Fitts, Hannah Elizabeth Mallard, Lani Roesel, Cheyenne Spring Shepherd, and Khloe Williams from the Dental Assisting program; Jonathan Russell Hurt, Bria Jordan, and Carson Luffman from the Computer Information Technology program, and Timothy Bilbo and Micah McClung from the Digital Graphic Design program.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Inductees were applauded for their achievements. To be inducted into NTHS students must maintain an “A” average, attend at least 95 percent of their total program hours, and be nominated by their instructors. Graduates with the NTHS distinction were Jesus Antonio Flores-Delgado – Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration; Lauren Cogdill, Paxton Charlotte Fairbairn, Justin Heflin, Jamelyn Kelley, Kalynn Meeker, Jessica Nichols, Madisen Smith, and Emalynn Whitlow – Practical Nursing; and Holly Sarene Luffman – Digital Graphic Design.

Graduates with the highest-grade point average in their respective career clusters were recognized as honorary banner bearers. They were Emalynn Whitlow – National Technical Honor Society, Dixie Mae DeLoach – SkillsUSA, Aiden Cotter – Construction, Hannah Mallard – Health Science, Jessica Nichols – Human Services, Carson Luffman – Information Technology, Brennan Runk – Manufacturing, Kias Davis – Transportation, and Holly Luffman – Visual Arts.

President Travis conferred diplomas and technical certificates for the following students: Hayden Caldwell with honors, Benjamin Cassidy, Samuel Clark, Aiden Cotter with honors, Evan Dillard, Isaiah Dotson, Jesus Antonio Flores-Delgado with honors, William Hunter, Jordan King, Joshua Silveira, and Jaxon Smith all from the Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program; Madelene Douglas with honors, Kaylee Edmisson with honors, Makena Fitts with honors, Hannah Elizabeth Mallard with honors and a 4.0, Lani Roesel with honors and a 4.0, Cheyenne Spring Shepherd with honors, and Khloe Williams with honors all from the Dental Assisting program; Lauren Cogdill, Paxton Charlotte Fairbairn, Keilee Garton, Justin Heflin, Jamelyn Kelley with honors, Kalynn Meeker with honors, Becky Moran, Jessica Nichols with honors and a 4.0, Braelynn Porter with honors and a 4.0, Gabrielle Shaffer, Madisen Smith, and Emalynn Whitlow with honors and a 4.0 all from the Practical Nursing program; Bayley Anderson with honors, Hannah Barnes, Gracelyn Bell with honors, Courtney Jane Chandler, Rylee Deems with honors, Dixie Mae DeLoach, Cidni Dennielle Forehand with honors, Maddy Hall, Addison Leigh Irons, Kerri Leanna Moore Knight with honors, Aydriona Turner, and Courtney Reigh Wilkins with honors all from the Cosmetology program; Jonathan Russell Hurt, Bria Jordan, and Carson Luffman with honors and a 4.0 all from the Computer Information Technology program; Micah Demoss and Donald Ray Mason with honors from the Automotive Technology program; Kias Lee Davis with honors, and William Reese Mash from the Diesel Powered Equipment Technology program; Timothy Bilbo, Eli Carlisle, Holly Sarene Luffman with honors and a 4.0, and Micah McClung from the Digital Graphic Design program.

Dickson’s hometown college since 1964, TCAT now has campus locations in Dickson, Clarksville, and Franklin and primarily serves students in Dickson, Montgomery, Cheatham, Stewart, Houston, Humphreys, Hickman, and Williamson counties in addition to neighboring communities and Kentucky residents.
