The Building Construction Technology Program provides the student with the fundamentals of carpentry, residential electrical wiring, residential plumbing, and block and brick laying. Instruction methods include classroom lecture, audio-visuals and extensive live work projects on actual construction projects.To develop skills, attitudes and proper working habits that will enable the student to make an intelligent entry into the building construction technology field. To provide opportunities for the student to learn the standards, codes, and regulations governing the phases of the general building construction field. To develop within the student certain ethics that will cause them to realize the importance of quality workmanship to the customer.

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.
