About
PROJECTED START DATE: Summer 2025
The Truck Driving Program prepares individuals to build skills in safety practices, operation, vehicle maintenance, and non-vehicle activities associated with commercial vehicle driving. The program is structured to emulate, as closely as possible, the normal day to day accountabilities of an over the road commercial vehicle driver. The Class A CDL (Tractor/Trailer) is the primary area of emphasis within the program.
This program is designed to provide the classroom theory work/activities, behind the wheel range, and behind the wheel road driving necessary to develop the skills necessary for initial employment as a commercial vehicle driver. Students learn to drive defensively and to abide by all local, state, and federal regulations. The information prepares the student to pass the theory and skills portion of the commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A, Class B and Class B (S and P) examinations, and (H) endorsement for HAZMAT.
