Clarksville, TN: TCAT Dickson President Laura Travis conferred eighty-seven diplomas and technical certificates for Clarksville campus graduates during summer commencement held August 20, at Austin Peay State University.
TCAT Dickson President Laura Travis welcomed the graduates and their families to the ceremony. “Each of these individuals became an inspiration to someone when they took the first step to continue their educations at TCAT,” Travis said.
Jonathan Button, Chief Strategic Enrollment Management Officer for Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) served as guest speaker for the ceremony.
Button shared a bit of his personal journey from growing up in Houston County to where he is today. “Behind every graduate is a network of support. I encourage you to take a moment and thank those who have been part of your journey,” Button said, adding, “We are all shaped by the people who have been with us along the way.”
Button encouraged graduates to choose connections over criticism. “You cannot fully comprehend someone’s struggles without fully knowing them,” Button shared.
Graduate Blane Crockarell from the Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics program and Jasmine Kennedy from the Cosmetology program led the Pledge of Allegiance and invocation, respectively.
Graduates receiving third party certifications were recognized. Those students were Carlos Lujano, Jakob Matheny, Xedarion Miller, Hector Rivera Torres, Demoine Rouse and Ditryk Ginnett all from the Automotive Technology program; Davian Radford from the Building Construction Technology program; Braylon Radford from the Computer Information Technology program; Stephanie Espindola de la vega, Michael Kuzman-Barron, Gabe Lehman and Ethan Paiz all from the Diesel Powered Equipment Technology program; Andrew Black, Lane Ferguson, Jonathan Garcia Banegas, Macario Gatewood, Dakota Gill, Michael Leventhal, and Jesse Smith from the Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program; Daniel Garmon from the Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics program; Mario Vega of the Machine Tool Technology program; Tracy Desiree’ Swann from the Patient Care Technology/Medical Assisting program; Kyle Gargis, Dominic Gorbet, Tristen Harper, Peyton Nalley, Logan Ivan Quillen, Thomesha Scott, Cheyenne Scott, Amanda Swaggerty and Amya Justine Widney from the Welding Technology program.
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Inductees were applauded for their achievements. To be inducted into NTHS students must maintain an “A” average, attend at least 95 percent of their total program hours, and be nominated by their instructors. Graduates with the NTHS distinction were Maritza Charles, Ruth Munyambu, and Audrey Sullenbarger all from Practical Nursing; Sara Albright, Jachia Christian, and Jasmine Adrianna Kennedy from Cosmetology; Dillon Austin, Parker Ferrell, and Nicholas Zydel all from the Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics program; Steven Lee Miller, Jr. from the Mechatronics Multicraft Tech program; and Amanda Swaggerty from Welding Technology.

The class of Spring 2026 included six veterans and eighteen first generation college graduates representing thirteen of the sixteen technical programs offered at the Clarksville campus.
Dickson’s hometown college since 1964, TCAT now has campus locations in Dickson, Clarksville, Franklin, and Erin. TCAT Dickson primarily serves students in Dickson, Montgomery, Cheatham, Stewart, Houston, Humphreys, Hickman, and Williamson counties in addition to neighboring communities and Kentucky residents.
