(April 27, 2022) Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Dickson announces Dr. Patrick Davis, Sr., as the new Vice President of Operations as of March 1, 2022.
Serving in this recently added position, Davis will oversee campus operations in the areas of facilities, maintenance, and information technology at the college’s four campuses: Dickson Main, Dickson Advanced Manufacturing, Clarksville, and the Franklin satellite. He will also administer all technical academic programs at the Dickson Main and Advanced Manufacturing locations.
“What excites me about this new role is the opportunity daily to be a conduit to connecting our students with the education to enable their skills to provide a better life for themselves,” Davis said. “I want my lasting impact to be that we removed barriers and created opportunities for our students to positively change their lives and add to the economic growth of the communities we so graciously serve.”
With nearly two decades in higher education, Davis served most recently as the Dean of Academic Support at Jackson State Community College. In his earlier career, he gained diverse experience at Dyersburg State Community College. In the private sector, Davis has held positions of leadership in information technology and training roles within global logistics and business-to-business services companies.
“He has so many experiences that will enable him to fit right in and provide guidance in a wide range of areas,” said TCAT Dickson President Dr. Arrita Summers.
Davis earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University in 2020.
Davis earned his Master of Arts in Education Curriculum and Instruction Design in 2008 and his Master of Business Administration in Technology Management in 2006, both from the University of Phoenix.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1997 and his Associate of Science in Communication from Jackson State Community College in 1995.
Davis has a “compelling desire to develop the whole student by connecting enrollment to employment,” according to Summers. “He has already proven the ability to provide input that will further our mission, and I am personally thankful he has joined our TCAT family.”
