The administration of Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Dickson is excited to announce the appointment of Laura Travis as the college’s new Vice President. In this role, she helps oversee operations at the Clarksville, Dickson and Franklin campuses.

As Health Careers Coordinator since 1998, Travis supervised all healthcare programs offered by the college, in addition to the implementation of several new programs and campuses. Assuming the additional role of Academic Affairs Coordinator in 2015, Travis led the college’s successful reaffirmation efforts in 2018 and served as a team member for reaffirmation visits for colleges across the United States.

In 2018, Travis was one of three finalists for the Tennessee Board of Regents’ (TBR) Staff Member of the Year award at the Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) ceremony. She has also been serving on the statewide TBR Faculty Subcouncil, representing the Middle Tennessee TCATs in developing policy guidelines for all institutions in the TBR system.

Travis is a graduate of Leadership Dickson County and currently serves as Chair Elect of the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce.

Travis received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University. She began her career as a Registered Nurse, working in critical care, emergency nursing, and home health before moving into her role at TCAT Dickson.
