(Dickson, TN) - NHC, a long-term care organization with a facility in Dickson, recently made a contribution to the TCAT Practical Nursing program. A new healthcare building is being constructed at the Dickson campus, and the new facility will house the Practical Nursing and Dental Assistant programs.
As an ongoing supporter of TCAT, the donation came when NHC reached out and asked what might be needed for the Practical Nursing program in the new Allied Health space, scheduled to open for classes sometime in the spring. A sophisticated simulation lab will be included and the financial gift from NHC will purchase hospital beds and lab furnishings. NHC also has a rich history of hiring many TCAT graduates and has often referred many individuals to the TCAT program.
Currently, TCAT Dickson has three nursing classes, with 28 students accepted to each class (starting every January, May and September). The Dental Assistant class also accepts 20 students each September.
TCAT Dickson has conducted a Practical Nursing program since its inception in1965, and thousands of healthcare professionals have started their career with a diploma from TCAT.
TCAT Dickson is a Tennessee Board of Regents institution, is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education, and complies with non-discrimination laws: Title VI, Title IX, Section 504, and ADA.
