Description
The Southeastern Area Joint Apprenticeship Committee (SAJAC) - Boilermakers is looking to fill 1,500 positions over the next three years to support the planned work for the Southeast and TVA.
This is a traveling trade and not a one-job trade. However, there are opportunities for talented individuals to secure a long-term maintenance position if they have the necessary skills.
Pay
Starting pay varies depending on skill level, experience, and education (welding papers).
Apprenticeship Program
Apprentices will learn the necessary skills to become well-rounded Construction Mechanics including fabrication, demolition, rigging, and various processes of welding all while receiving a paycheck.
Apprenticeship is a 6,000-hour program broken down into four periods. Apprentices will have a three-week class every summer for four years. Apprentices with TCAT Dickson Welding Technology diplomas will receive 500 hours credit at the end of their apprenticeship. An Additional 1,000 hours will be credited at the end of the apprenticeship to those apprentices that pass a tube weld test.

All benefits are hours paid, meaning if you are getting time and half or double time; then benefits will be also. Benefits are not deducted from pay but are paid by the contractors on your behalf.

Many other facilities provide occasional work.
